Donations

The CISCO IT Essentials A+ program at Northeast Career Center is currently looking for hardware donations of computers. CompTIA At is a certification that deals primarily with computers that run Windows operating systems. Our students learn how to repair computer hardware and configure workstation operating systems. At our last Advisory Committee meeting it was recommended that our program upgrade the hardware that students learn on. Our class size runs typically from 12-25 students. Our current mainstay hardware computers are running at 500 MHz and have 128 -256 MB of memory. Items that would assist us include:

  • Any computer having a processor faster that 500 MHz
  • A group of classroom computers (10-25) that would allow the entire class to learn on the same computer
  • All-in-one printers or printer/scanners (space is at a premium)
  • Flat screen monitors. Unfortunately we can’t use CRT monitors but we can direct you to organizations that recycle CRT monitors.
  • Wireless NICs
  • Wireless Routers

To donate something please contact me using the information below. Of course in the summer I am not at the career center but working on web pages like this one so e-mail is best at that time of year.

Cheers
