My emphasis is on building quality e-learning materials for both education and industry. Listed below are some areas of expertise.
Build and distribute virtual appliances using Microsoft and Ubuntu operating systems. Will build both desktop and server appliances and set up to run inside a virtual network. I have several Ubuntu appliances prebuilt using Ubuntu desktop 8.04 LTS, Ubuntu Server 8.04 LTS and Ubuntu Server 10.04 LTS. . Some of these appliances are configured to run Moodle in a test environment. Additionally I have built Windows appliances including XP, Vistal, Windows 7 and Windows Server 2003. Unfortunately the Windows appliances can not be distributed due to licensing issues. For an example of how to build an Ubuntu 10.04 virtual LAMP server in Microsoft's Hyper-V see Ubuntu 10.04 in Hyper-V or the video on this page.
Build course work in Moodle using instructional design principles. For examples of courses that allow guest access (no quizzes and hard stuff) see my Moodle Test Server. Unfortunately this server does not have enough bandwidth to handle very many log-ons.
Build e-learning dynamic web pages using c#, css, dot Net, javascript, html and Visual Basic. For examples of dynamic web pages click on the archives link to the left. Because the archives web pages have had their links broken to store them in one place, a page or a set of pages may generate an error message. Over the past years many teachers have asked for certain materials and created links to them. There are thousands of pages of curriculum materials with the links stored across several databases and over 10 years of time. Rather than completely eliminating thousands of pages or going over every page, the menu structure was kept intact so when a teacher requested a page it would be possible to recreate the link or reestablish the broken IIS dot Net program. Just ask and the missing page or pages can be supplied.
Experience working within an urban school system has provided lessons in completing dynamic projects using a minimum of computer resources. If you would like see if a project is feasible, wish to discuss specifications, or determine architectural requirements, please contact me below.
